The Alzheimer’s Society is offering training for surgery staff in Barnet in their Dementia Friends initiative.
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it’s like to live with dementia and turns that understanding into action which can help patients with Dementia and their carers feel more comfortable and less confused when visiting the surgery.
No action is too small and every action counts. The Alzheimer’s Society can send a Dementia Friends Champion to your surgery for a 45-60 minute information session. Alternatively staff can watch a short video and complete at least one further module that is most relevant to their area of work.
This would be ideal for reception staff who come into daily contact with patients with dementia.
