NHS Practice Nurse Learning Sets – Adopting and Embedding Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS).
Do you want to be involved in the rollout of supportive technology for patients…? Do you want to transform into an e-nurse and become a digital nurse champion? Get a step ahead with this exciting action learning programme for general practice nurses – don’t miss out!
GPN 10point plan is providing funding for up to 3 motivated general practice nurses and/or advanced nurse practitioners based in general practice with a desire to push the boundaries, learn about what technology enabled care (TECS) is available and to be involved in the rollout of supportive technologies to transform into an e-nurse.
This is an opportunity to attend a nationally funded action learning course introducing you to simple tech / digital tools that could change the way that you practise forever. We will provide equipment and the necessary protocols to bring you into the digital age and to help you become a digital practice nurse champion, and show you how to apply technology enabled care in your practice to benefit your patients!
The action learning sets will introduce you to all the current tools available to use in practice, alongside mentoring from a team of experts. All you need is a passion for delivering innovative patient care and permission from your surgery to put into practice the skills you learn and resources you access, to benefit both your workload and the patient experience.
You will be required to attend two sessions: Thursday 21 November and Thursday 30 January from 6-8pm at the Laycock Centre, Islington, and complete a detailed action plan. These will be facilitated by a digitally experienced general practice nurse and delivered by frontline experts in digital care. In return for your commitment to using technology in your practice to benefit patient care we will offer a tablet pre-loaded with data and the necessary apps and programmes. You will be expected to apply your learning in your practice as you develop in your action learning set and to participate in the project evaluation. Please note refreshments will be provided for these events.
Each practice nurse will be individually supported remotely by an expert digital champion and digital nurse champion facilitator, on a one to one basis to set up digital resources and ensure they can operate these modes of TECS (e.g. video consultation/ apps / social media focused on specific long term condition), and the digital nurse champion facilitator will provide continuous support to individual participants between sessions.
The NHS is evolving; you need to deliver the care that your patients deserve and be part of the forward-thinking NHS as documented in the 5-year plan! Places are limited so please register ASAP.
