Nursing Newsletter 12th March 2021

Dear All

Another busy week in Paradise!  I had the pleasure of ending my busy week by listening to some amazing projects being led by GPNs across NCL using the CARE programme.  Our own, Karen Landi, presented her project which she focussed on the needs of bereaved patients in her practice.  Such a sensitive and timely intervention to promote “healthy” grieving which in the long term will result in saving clinician time and possibly savings on prescribing.  I am looking forward to this piece of work being taken forward in PCN 3 and then further out.

Pre-registration Student Nurse Placements

Invitation to a Virtual Joint Event with University of Hertfordshire  Thursday 29 April 12.30 – 13.30.  Calling all nurse supervisors and assessors to have a conversation with your practice colleagues to encourage placements.  We need to increase nursing capacity in general practice, you have skills, knowledge and experience to teach the next generation of nurses.  It would be great if we could have at least one student nurse placed in each of the PCNs to showcase the fantastic work that happens in primary care.  I need your help to drive this at your practice level.  See attached flyer for full details and the link for practice colleagues to join,  followed by the SSSA update for nurses using the same link.
